Soft Washing

What is Soft Washing?

Soft washing is a lesser known process that uses a cleaning solution, typically derived from SH (sodium hypochlorite), water, and a surfactant.  The process works by applying the solution on the surface and then rinsed off, using low pressure water. The solution does the vast majority of the work, getting down on a microscopic level.

The process is much safer than using high pressure on delicate surfaces that can be easily damaged such as stucco, vinyl siding, or screening. It is a low enough pressure where we can stick our hand in front of the water without risk of harm.

AREAS WE CLEAN

  • Fencing (Vinyl, Wood, Composite)

  • Lanai Enclosures

  • Pool Cages

Fence Cleaning

If you enjoy your privacy and have a fence on your property, you know how hard it is to keep your fencing looking as good as new. Florida weather is infamous for organic growth that can damage and discolor fencing. Pressure Washing Scallywags is able to restore the look of your wood, composite or vinyl fence.

We use the soft washing process on both composite and vinyl fence, but the process used on wood fence is slightly different. Due the chemical make up of sodium hypochlorite, SH should not be applied to wood surfaces as it can penetrate the surface, causing the wood to dry out and become damaged. At Pressure Washing Scallywags, we use other cleaning solutions that are safe on wood but also leave the same lasting results.

Lanai Enclosures & Pool Cages

Is there green algae growing on your screen enclosures? As with any exterior surface, lanai enclosures and pool cages are susceptible to organic growth just like your house or driveway. Additionally, dirt and dust will collect on the surface and can appear very chalky and dull.

We use our soft wash process to remove all dirt and grime as the low pressure mitigates the risk for damage while providing the satisfactory, like-new appearance you are looking to achieve.
